Preprints Policy
Direct Transfer Service to Ukwuru Science
Ukwuru Science facilitates the seamless posting of preprints for all Ukwuru Science journals.
Authors who post preprints on the bioRxiv or medRxiv preprint servers can choose to concurrently submit their manuscripts to Ukwuru Science or another relevant Ukwuru Science journal through our direct transfer service. For more information about posting a preprint and the direct transfer service available through bioRxiv and medRxiv, please refer to our guidelines.
Facilitated Preprint Posting from Ukwuru Science
Authors submitting manuscripts in the life and health sciences to Ukwuru Science can opt to have their submission forwarded to bioRxiv or medRxiv, based on the scope of the paper, for consideration as a preprint.

Manuscripts that pass an initial suitability screening will be posted on bioRxiv or medRxiv as preprints, meaning the manuscript files will be publicly accessible and credited to the authors listed. If the article is subsequently accepted for publication in Ukwuru Science, the preprint and the published article will be linked when the article appears online.

Eligibility for posting on bioRxiv or medRxiv is independent of the editorial assessment and peer review processes. Preprint checks do not influence the decision regarding the manuscript’s suitability for publication in Ukwuru Science. More information about our editorial selection can be found at Ukwuru Science.

Preparing Preprint Files for Submission

Preprints are available on bioRxiv and medRxiv in PDF format. Authors have the option to provide their own preprint PDF or allow Ukwuru Science to compile an automatically generated PDF.
If you provide your own preprint PDF, it will appear on bioRxiv or medRxiv without any changes. Ensure that your submission includes the title, authors, abstract, full manuscript text, and any figures or tables with their captions. Note that bioRxiv and medRxiv impose a 40 MB limit on PDF file sizes, and files must be compressed to meet this requirement.

Alternatively, Ukwuru Science can create a preprint PDF suitable for bioRxiv or medRxiv from the manuscript and figure files included in your journal submission. Supplementary information will not be included in the auto-generated preprints but may be uploaded directly to bioRxiv or medRxiv after posting.

Keep in mind that some figure quality may be compromised during the automatic conversion process. To achieve the best results, ensure that your submission adheres to the journal's formatting requirements and that tables fit within the page margins. If you have concerns about figure resolution, consider submitting a preprint PDF alongside your other submission materials.

Preprint Checks
Once authors have opted to have their preprint posted by Ukwuru Science, the manuscript is transferred to bioRxiv or medRxiv, where experts in relevant fields will screen the submissions for suitability.
Further details regarding the screening process can be found on the bioRxiv and medRxiv websites.
Most submissions that pass the preprint checks will be posted within a few days. Authors will receive direct notifications of successful preprint postings from bioRxiv or medRxiv. Once a preprint is posted, it cannot be removed from bioRxiv or medRxiv.
bioRxiv and medRxiv will notify authors if any issues arise or if a manuscript is deemed ineligible for posting.

Updates to Preprints
To ensure that readers have access to the most current version of a manuscript, authors are encouraged to submit updates and revisions directly to bioRxiv or medRxiv up until acceptance for publication. Please refer to the submission guidelines at bioRxiv and medRxiv for specific instructions.
Concerns
